Mya jolted awake, gasping for air. She sat upright and placed a hand over her heart, trying to calm herself. What a peculiar dream, she thought to herself. She spent a moment trying to recall the details but found that the dream was vanished from her memories. All that was left was a sense of immeasurable love and endless sorrow. A single tear slid down her cheek, mourning for the loves she had never met.
Swinging her legs over the edge of her bed, Mya stretched and yawned. Today was her big day and she couldn’t waste any more time in bed pondering her dream. The young woman began packing some clothes into a backpack while trying to decide what she would wear for the day. Settling on some black leggings and an olive-green tank top, she dressed herself and dug out an old plaid jacket that was several times too large for her. She finished filling the backpack with some other belongings she deemed important. Next she sat at her vanity and combed her long golden locks, pulling it back into a well-practiced French braid. It was time. She headed downstairs into the main room of her now closed tavern.
Mya approached the exit and turned around for one last look at the empty room. It had been many years since it had been filled with people. It was a home for her wayward friends, but they had all gotten on with their lives. It was now Mya’s turn to move on. She hung a sign in the window letting whoever comes looking for her that she had left for a journey to find a new place where she belonged.
She couldn’t help but feel bummed that she was leaving her home behind. Her brother and best friend had been the last to leave. For a long time, it had just been the three of them with the odd traveler temporarily staying in the rooms above the Tavern’s bar. After a relentless pursuit, her brother Dante had managed to convince Scarlet to marry him. It was a beautiful ceremony and Mya was able to bless their union. Unfortunately, not long after, Dante had accepted that it was time for him to go to work and took up his position as a gatekeeper to hell. Naturally he took his wife with him when he left. Mya had put on her biggest, brightest smile, assured them that she would be alright on her own and they could come visit her any time.
Mya made her way down the beaten path. Her tavern was in a more secluded area which contributed to not a lot of clientele, not that she minded. It was perfect for getting her bearings on earth. Before the tavern, Mya had escaped the fall of her small kingdom on the moon. During her time on earth, she had fallen in love with it’s beauty. Every day was a new experience. As much as she loved the earth, she longed for the day she could safely travel back to her home kingdom. Right now, she didn’t have the capability.
Weeks turned into months on her journey as she covered a lot of ground. She had finally entered territory she was not yet familiar with. She trekked across mountains and followed rivers until she spied something in the horizon. An ancient looking castle loomed over the forest. With a little extra pep in her step, Mya quickened her pace to approach the castle. It didn’t seem so large when it was still off in the distance. With any luck, someone would answer. It was beginning to get late. Mya nervously knocked on the door.
No answer. Should she knock again? Maybe she should just leave… Mya began to turn away…
“Who is brave enough to knock on these doors?” A man shrouded in darkness pushed open the door. He towered over Mya who was quite startled.
“I’m sorry, my lord, if I have disturbed you,” She squeaked and fumbled a curtsy. The man chuckled. Mya felt her ears heat up in embarrassment. “I am a traveler; I have come from far away lands. I was hoping you could grant me a few days of rest… and, ah, a hot shower if permitted.” Mya was a bit nervous to meet his gaze and kept her bright green eyes downcast while the man regarded her silently for a few minutes.
“Very well. You may enter,” He tossed her a key he had conjured out of nowhere. “Woman, look at me while we are talking. What is your name?”
“My name is Mya, my lord. I-I can offer you some gold in exchange for your hospitality,” She reached to the sachet at her hip.
“No need for your money here. I am Nightmare Zero. I welcome you to the Moonlight Castle, where the night is always young!” He held his arms up in some grand gesture. Was this guy serious?
Maybe he wasn’t as scary as he looked. Mya followed him inside and he gave her a run down of the castle and its amenities. He explained a bit about who he was and asked Mya for her story. She told him the bits and pieces she felt were safe to tell. They shared a dinner together that Mya cooked in the kitchen as a thank you for letting her stay. He nodded approvingly, commenting that it had been a long time since anyone cooked for him. As she was clearing the table of their dishes, Nightmare abruptly got to his feet.
“You plan on staying for a while, yeah? I must take my leave. You have free reign of the castle and contents… just stay out of my tower.” He poofed into a cloud of smoke and was gone. Mya furrowed her brows at his abrupt leave. Once the kitchen was clean, she scoured the castle high and low but there was no sign of Nightmare. It was like he was never existed, save for the occasional portrait of him in the halls.
“What did I get myself into?” Mya mused to herself as she made her way to her sleeping quarters. “I guess I can stay here for a while. Maybe this won’t be so bad…”
The wheel of fate was turning, little did Mya know what this place would come to mean to her.

A black wolf was tearing its way through the forest, following a path etched into the very being of its soul. It was following an old overgrown and yet familiar game trail despite having never step foot before in these lands. There was a yearning deep in her soul, something had been guiding her all these years. A sense of Deja Vu and this time, she hoped with all her might to be correct. There had been times before that she had been wrong, places not how she remembered it. Buildng's that never existed, places etched into her memories she simply could not find any records for. People whose faces were simply just blurs that haunted her dreams. She was simply told that she could see the future but that's not how it felt. Every time she helped stop something, or found some long-lost object, it's not that she looked into the future, but it was like she was looking to the past. Something deep within her was telling her to follow this path, that this was the way to the answer she always sought despite never fully understanding the question. The sense of loss and frustration was finally going to have its answer.
Or so this wolf thought as it stood at the edge of the empty field gazing up at the old castle. It just stood there, panting heavily as it just flopped to the ground. How many miles had it been running? How many days had it been since it rested? When was its last meal? It was so hell bent on following this singular path out of hell, that it had ignored many basic survival needs. Fatigue and hunger were over taking this majestic creature. This being seemed like a wolf but was much larger than a natural wolf but not by much. Its fur was so dark, so black, and so void of light that it you felt like you'd be sucked into it and get lost in its darkness. However, its eyes were a sight to behold. They glowed an unusual golden color with a light all their own and they were fixed on the castle.
There was this sense that this is where she needed to be. She had no rhyme or reason to be here, to be in these lands. There was no cause to be so fixated on that old castle. There was no reason for her to be topside and yet she could not deny how much she wanted to be here and for whatever reason, this was the place she wanted to be. She could barely hold her head up and eventually gave up trying to stay upright and just flopped onto her side, still panting heavily as if she could not catch her breath no matter how hard she tried. She was in such a vulnerable position and yet, had no doubt that she would be fine just lying there. Her eye lids were growing so heavy, but she did not want to take her eyes off the castle. Slowly her chest began to rise and fall slower as her eyes closed themselves. There was this overwhelming feeling that overtook her as she simply slipped unconscious from fatigue and exhaustion. It was the unexplainable feeling of home that allowed her to slip into such a relaxed state out in the open.
She dreamed of a time long forgotten by the fates and time. It was like the harder she tried to remember, the more it slipped away through her fingers. It wasn't long before something began to stir her. Someone was petting her and scratching her in that perfect spot beneath her ear and made her leg do that twitch thing. Her eyes slowly opened as she pushed herself back into an upright position. A man with the reddest hair she had ever seen was crouched down in front of her. Most of his face was covered by a black scarf that seemed to have a life of its own, and darkness clung to him like smoke. "This isn't the best place for someone like you to take a nap. You might be better off inside."
She just flopped back over, looking up at him. She was still too tired really to move but she did give a happy thump of her tail to show she was non-threatening towards him. "Your probably pretty hungry, aren't you?" He waved his hand, shooing some of the smoke away from himself as he stood up smoothing out his outfit of wrinkles. "The back door leading directly into the kitchen is open. Help yourself to whatever you find in the pantry, but you must replace whatever you eat. " He motioned towards the castle. "You'll find the back gardens at the other end of this field. Make your way through the hedge's and you'll see the door. You have free reigns of the castle grounds as long as you harm no one staying here. " He started walking past her, deeper into the forest. At least that is what she thought not having the energy to look back at him having not realized he just disappeared in a cloud of smoke. "Just stay out of my tower." She didn't know if he had realized that she was not a normal wolf, but she knew he was not a normal man.
All of a sudden, she snapped to reality and sat upright breathing heavily. Had everything with the unknown man just been a dream? Her stomach growled as she willed herself back onto her feet looking around. It seemed like the man had simply disappeared but none the less, Castles had kitchens and kitchens had food. Surely, she would simply follow the directive she had been given, and just replace whatever she ate. Slowly she walked the path the man had told her to take, walk up to the end of the field, through the hedges of the back garden and sure enough, there was the door sitting ajar. With ease, she pushed the door open and saw the sparkly clean kitchen. She had no hesitation in tracking in dirt, leaves and such as she trotted over to the large pantry and began helping herself to meats she found inside.

A few months had passed since Mya's arrival. She only intended to stay for a few weeks while she learned the lay of the land. This castle was much different from where she had grown up, but was finding the place to be rather cozy. While any parts of the castle could use renovations and updating, it still had all the amenities a person would need. Her sleeping quarters had modest furnishings but was a sizable room with a private full bathroom. She tried to pay rent to the castle's master several times but was turned down. Instead, all he asked that she helped with household chores and cooked meals for him whenever he was home.
Over time, she began to fall in love with the castle and surroundings. To have the untamed wilderness at her doorstep was both a blessing and a curse. Not many people traveled out this far and with Zero spending most of his time away, Mya had found herself lonely once again. It was the whole reason she left her tavern in the first place. She desired companionship of some kind. Something more than what the odd friendly woodland creature could provide. Mya was grateful for her new home; it gave her purpose and yet she wished to share it with others. This castle could easily house several families for a few generations.
Mya hummed a tune while she worked her way down the one hall. She had been cleaning each castle wing over time. There was dust caked on all of the decor that made her sneeze every time she wandered the castle. It was going to take a while to get the years of neglect tidied up, but at least it filled her time and gave her a purpose. After draping the cloth over her shoulder, Mya wiped the sweat off her forehead. Perhaps it was time for a short break.
Mya carried her bucket of soiled water down the hall and noticed a door that was left open. Strange, Mya hadn't seen Zero in a while and she hadn't gone out that way that day. She frowned looking down at the mud that was tracked down the hall towards the kitchen. Entering the kitchen, was prepared to give whomever shit for messing up her clean floors when she spied the wolf eating out of the pantry. Upon a quick glance, Mya noted that this wolf looked a bit different than the ones that lived in these lands. Most wolves didn't know how to enter doors nor how to invade a pantry. By now the wolf likely took note of her entrance and looked her way. Mya took a half step backwards and gulped nervously.
"Uhh... nice doggy?"

One would think with this doggy's heritage that it would have better manners, but she did not. She was a greedy little thing happily helping itself to the meats dry aging. She had managed to find a rib and held it in her mouth as she turned to look at the woman who just entered the pantry. With a sickening crunch, it chomped down on the bone and simply devoured it. She made short work of it as if she was simply eating a chip and not chewing her way through the rib that was easily a few inches thick. Surprisingly despite her gluttonous behavior, she was actually doing a good job of not making a mess of her found meal. She just stared at the woman as she chewed the food, some of it falling to the floor.
This broke her concentration look down at the floor and stop to lick the bits up that had fallen to the floor. That was when she noticed the state of her paws and the trail behind her. That was the moment she realized that she had tracked mud and dirt onto previously clean floors. There was an aha moment in her mind as she looked up realizing that this was most likely the person who had cleaned the floors she just dirtied. She just smiled if one could call it a smile. The rows of sharp teeth were unsettling and not at all natural. Far too many, and it almost seemed as if there were multiple rows of them. She sat down and perked her ears up and tried to look as much of a good girl as she could. She was absolutely trying her best innocent puppy dog look.
It was probably very unnerving to see this big black wolf like creature sitting there trying it's best to look like a good innocent puppy and if she had a better grasp of folks that were topside, she wouldn't blame the woman to be wary or even scared of her. With how quickly and with great skill it she had been making quick work of the meat, it could undoubtedly turn the woman into her next snack. Despite her best efforts, she looked like a very guilty wolf who had just got caught red pawed. One could almost say her golden eyes were saying 'Oops'

Mya watched as the wolf snacked on the bones. Each crunch made her jump ever so slightly. The wolf regarded Mya for quite some time but made no motion to lunge at her. It did, however, show all of it's teeth which made her even more nervous. There was intelligence in the creature's eyes, Mya was certain of that. She inched towards the refrigerator without turning her back to the wolf. Popping the door open, Mya rummaged in one of the drawers and pulled out the skinned hare she had trapped the day before. Mya hadn't gotten around to properly butchering the hare just yet, it was still intact.
"You can understand me, yes?" She held the hare in an outstretched hand. "This stuff is fresh and probably better than the old dried meat. I can give this to you, but you have to get washed up after... fair?" Her hand holding the hare trembled betraying that she was, in fact, still afraid of this wild animal. She hoped it was her lucky day. She remembered a story her father told her many moons ago when she was a small child. He spoke of different demon families and their abilities. There were a few families that specialized in transformations and could effortlessly shift between animal and human forms... but she also heard stories about hellhounds. Those could be trained but were vicious creatures down to the core. Mya was silently praying that this wolf was of the former stories.

Had she been a wild animal, she would have felt very cornered with her approaching the pantry and may have tried to attack her or lunge at her. Perhaps even growled and barked at her yet she did not. She was very calm and didn't make any sudden movements towards the woman, sensing her rather apprehension towards her. It was normal for her to have people fearful of her, so she simply went along with the flow. When she went over to the fridge, she just sat down and waited. When the hare was offered to her, she was very gentle about taking it but still scarfed it down like a goddless mannerless heathen.
She was fine with agreeing to those terms and conditions. Getting cleaned up did sound rather wonderful and even a bath sounded great. She was curious if her humanoid form would cause her more distress then her wolf. Even with how unusual she was, her humanoid form was much more unusual. She sat there pondering for a moment contemplating shifting to it but decided against it. So far, the woman understood she was not a normal wolf and was respecting her as such.
She had made quick work of the hare and once she was done, she stood back up and got closer to the woman. Similar to a cat she nudged her hand with her head and while her fur looked like something you could fall into and just disappear forever in, she was super soft, and you could tell her fur was extremely dense. You just wanted to work your fingers into it and just sink into the fluffyness of her fur. She had an extremely thick and heavy coat to stay as warm as possible in these lands. In her own way, she was trying to be nice and say 'look, I'm not going to eat you.'

Mya watched as the wolf scarfed down the food. Since the creature took the food so gently, she let out a sigh of relief. Mya wasn’t currently on the dinner menu from what she could see. Her posture relaxed finally as she dug around in the pantry for some peanut butter. While the wolf finished the hare, Mya had made herself a peanut butter sandwich to satisfy her own hunger.
When the wolf nudged her hand after they had both finished their snacks. Her fingers sunk into it’s fur and her heart melted. Look at this good wolfie, she wouldn’t hurt a fly! Mya thought to herself, choosing to ignore the fact that it was just munching on meat and bones like nothing. With the animal’s permission, Mya gave her some scritches under the chin before moving up for the sweet, sweet ear scritches. She hoped this might elicit the rumored leg thump reaction.
It wasn’t long before the pets and scratches turned into a two-handed endeavor, with Mya now sitting on the floor giving this wolf the scritches of a lifetime. Towards the end of it, she was completely covered in black fur. Mya looked down at her shirt and laughed. The mud the wolf had tracked in added to the dust she had been cleaning earlier. Mya was now filthy.
“Hey, lets go get cleaned up. We are a mess!” Mya got to her feet and motioned for the wolf to follow. She led the creature down the hall to one of the bathrooms. It was a large room, clearly designed for all kinds of creatures’ comfort. Mya approached the tub and turned on the hot water. It wasn’t like a typical tub but more reminiscent of a bath house tub, designed for sharing a hot soak with your friends. Not that Mya had any but hey, a wolf would certainly be the next best thing.
By this point Mya had become completely comfortable around the wolf. She felt no danger or threat. As the tub filled, Mya poured in some soap into the water that made the air smell fruity. Bubbles formed at the waters surface. Satisfied that would be enough, Mya began to strip her clothes off and preceded to the shower stalls that were on the side of the room. She used the shower head to rinse off most of the dirt and grime off herself before motioning to the wolf.
“C’mere, let me get the worst of that mud off you, then we can go soak!”

Any other day, she would have taken the opportunity to mess with her in some sort of fashion but in all honesty, she was being as earnest as possible. She really did want ear scratches and those full body scratches? She really was hamming it up to get all the attention she possibly could. It wasn't a full leg thump, but the leg twitch did happen, and she had a dopey look on her face as her tongue just hung out and was a very happy creature getting scritches. This was someone who had no idea who she was, or really what she was. This was a fact she was going to take full advantage of. She didn't know why, but for whatever reason she was comfortable around this woman and more than happy to be around her much less even allowing her to touch her. This was such an undignified thing to allow, and if anyone from back home saw her, it literally could go so many ways and many of them were not pleasant. Yet she was just a good doggy who got snackies, was going to get a hot bath and was probably going to have one of the best nap's she's ever had soon.
Back where she came from, there was no one who would have done this for her nor were there many who she would trust to be this close to her in such a vulnerable state. It's not like she couldn't take her fair share of knives to the back but if if you died below well that was a permeant situation. Topside, well things got a little fuzzier on how permeant that situation was. She did just a huff of approval and happily trotted after her. She wasn't to concerned about drying out entirely with how dense her fur was, while she was being pet it felt like petting a cat who had been laying in the sun all afternoon. There was just this warmth about her.
When they entered the bathroom, she paused and clearly took in everything. She was actually impressed that this bathroom was indeed intended for many different species and as she trotted over to the shower stall, she even noted how large it was. Clearly this was not meant just for humans and was curious as to what other species were residing at the castle. She sniffed the bath water while mya was stripping for the shower and just sneezed a bit when the bubbles tickled her nose. Her head popped up when mya called out for her and like a dopey creature happily went over to her.
She had showers before, but they weren't common where she was from. Water was a scarce commodity but it's not that she didn't have ways to get clean. She had gone tromping through lakes and rivers before in this form when topside, but this would be a new experience for her. How many could say that someone gave them a doggy bath? Mya may not have noticed when she was being pet and really would have just chalked it up to dirt but as she happily stood there beneath the shower and the water really got down deep, there was a rusty color starting to come off of her and the smell of iron was suddenly very noticeable. It mostly mingled with the dirt and mud, and it wasn't long before the water was running clear, and the smell of iron was gone. Unlike a normal wolf, she didn't really have a wet smell about her. Her actual scent was actually pretty hard to discern with the other floral scents in the air.
She wasn't actively bleeding, but at some point, she had been injured and the wound had healed over. She just sat there happily allowing the water to wash over her and get out all the gritty bits and stuff. When mya was confident that she was clean enough for the bath, she happily walked over to it and eased herself into it slowly, obviously enjoying the warmth of it. She kind of just floated in the water with a happy relaxed look on her face waiting for mya to join her in the bathtub.

Mya’s brows furrowed with concern when the water running off the wolf looked more like blood than dirt. She could smell it in the air. A distant memory tugged at her mind that she had to mentally shoo away lest she make herself upset… and who could be upset with this super fluffy wolf that appeared content with ear scritches. Mya worked through the wolf’s fur, unable to find any open wounds so she just assumed this creature may not have had a bath before.
Once the water was running clean off the wolf, Mya nodded to the tub that had filled. She made sure there was a spot where the wolf would be able to touch the bottom comfortably. The tub was easily large enough to fit several more people and creatures in with them. Mya stepped into the bath and slowly sunk into the water. “Ahhh…” She breathed a relaxed sigh. “This is exactly what I needed. I’m sure it feels good for you too!” Mya reached over and plopped a handful of bubbles on the wolf’s head. She laughed.
“Well, it’s nice to finally have some company,” the blonde woman mused. “I haven’t been here for that long; I think about two months. The master of the castle here said I can stay as long as I like. I try to earn my keep by cleaning up the place. You’d think nobody lived here in centuries!” Mya lowered her head until her mouth and nose were submerged before blowing some bubbles. She came up for air. “You know, I hoped staying here I might make some friends. The master of the castle isn’t home too often. And here I am, talking to a wolf like you can answer me. But hey, silent company is better than no company!” Mya laughed but it was more of a self-depreciating laugh.

It felt really good to be soaking in the water. Her ears flattened when she dropped the pile of bubbles on her head, but she wasn't mad about it. Her ears perked back up when she was talking about making friends and how she wouldn't be able to respond. She was cautious about shifting to her humanoid form Infront of her but knowing that she was that lonely and had basically been here for 2 months without any other person talk to, why that tugged at the old creature's heart strings.
She knew what it was like to be lonely and not having someone to talk to. That was why she had left hell because while she was surrounded by people, they were not her friends. They were people who were shallow who tried to get close to her only to use her for her position or power. Even more so were the offers of political loveless baby making marriages and partnerships. She wanted none of that. Perhaps she had been dropped on her head as a child or it was simply to many blows to the head during battles, but even after years and years of living in hell she didn't want deal with any of it anymore. She was tired of dealing with the backstabbing of politics, death threats and seduction attempts. The debauchery, booze, fights and parties were fun but there was just this empty part of her she simply could not fill with booze, sex and fighting. There was a yearning deep within her that simply could not be understood in hell and that was why she left and had gone on a journey of self-discovery if you will.
Energy wise, she was just to tapped to fully shift and she really didn't want to be in a half form, but she could do something about communication at the very least. Wisps of gold treads appeared in the air Infront of mya, floating just above the surface of the water. They were so pretty to watch dancing in the air until they began to grow a bit thicker and flowed like someone writing with a calligraphy pen. "Oh, but I can answer you." The floating handwriting was very nicely done and clearly legible. One could tell that they made effort to write in a simpler style based off how pretty the handwriting looked. She just happily floated there with a pile of bubbles on her head, staring at her with perked ears and very focused eyes. She was waiting for her reaction, wondering if she was going to freak out or not.

Mya had piled a bunch of bubbles on her own head when she took notice of the golden threads. She glanced at the wolf who seemed totally content with life. She reached up to touch the thread, but found that her fingers simply passed right through. "Whaaa...?" Once Mya realized that the thread was turning into words her green eyes lit right up.
She suddenly stood up and pointed at the wolf, "YOU...?" Of course this wolf was magical. She grinned ear to ear. "YOU CAN ANSWER ME?!" Mya clapped her hands together and looked up at the ceiling, "thank you!" she whispered to nothing in particular. Lowering herself back into the water, she coughed once and cleared her throat.
"Ahem, yes, hello nice to meet you. I'm Mya! Whats your name?" She tried to look dignified like she wasn't just losing her shit a moment ago. "That's a cool spell you can do! It must come in handy from time to time..." The young blonde prattled on for a few minutes, clearly just so excited to have a two sided conversation. "Oh I hope we can become good freinds!" She was sitting with her hands at her chin, excitedly, while staring at the wolf and it's magic thread writing.

She was indeed pretty content with life in that moment. She was pretty determined to enjoy this new lease on life that she had. No one knew her here, No one would know to look for her here. She had successfully escaped any of the responsibilites, expectations and demands of her family. At least that's what she believed for the moment. One could practically feel the smirk radiating off of her at how surprised she was about her little parlor trick. She had learned the trick as a means of communicating with others without having to speak. Afterall, if one was trying to create a secret rendezvous with someone else and you didn't want people to know what you were up to, slipping a secret note that destroyed itself upon being read and know that it got to that specific person, was a very handy thing to know.
Not to mention it helped in situations like this when she was stuck in a form that did not allow her to communicate normally. She was pretty confident she could have started talking in a demonic tongue without issue, but she wasn't sure how much if any of what she said would be understood by the woman. This was a prime opportunity for her to shed her old self completely and go by something else entirely and yet, seeing how excited she was to learn that she was someone capable of even a basic form of communication, some part of her felt like it would be deceptive of her to go by a different name in this moment. Perhaps she wasn't ready to shed entirely everything of her old life. She was certainly going to lose her mind when she learned that not only could she communicate with her, but oh so more.
Once again, the thread's swirled about to form more words. "My name is Yuko." She was puzzled at the thought of having a friend. Where she came from, you didn't really have geniune friends and she could tell that this woman's request for friendship was truly genuine. She was so innocent, so bright and perky. It was like a breath of fresh air. She only had to think about it for a moment before she responded. " Yes, I would like to be your friend as well."

By this point, surely the wolf would have noticed that Mya was naïve. She was clearly an adult, but it would be easy to assume she lived a sheltered life as a child, which was mostly true. Growing up as the heir to her kingdom, Mya was kept in the palace for most of her young life while she received an education and learned things the future ruler would need to know. Had the wolf spoke to her in demonic language, Mya very well would have understood. She was part demon, after all. She just happened to take more after her mother who was revered as some kind of holy goddess.
“Yuko! That’s a pretty name! It’s a pleasure to meet you and I’m glad we can be friends!” Mya beamed at the wolf, thrilled to have made a new friend. “I don’t know how you got here or how long you plan to stay but please make yourself comfortable. The owner of this castle has a tower we need to stay out of, but I was told I can explore any other part of the castle we wish.”
“Are you from around these parts? It took me a long time to travel here from where I was…” Mya chattered on about where she had lived before the castle. She spoke of her tavern that had very few patrons but enough to give her an understanding of the area. She also spoke of a handful of friends she had lived with but that they had all moved on with their lives and left. “…and after I blessed their marriage, my brother was called away for work and had to take Scarlet with him. I miss them so much… but I guess Dante’s boss can be really scary and he already pissed him off by not taking the job he was trained for…” Mya purposely didn’t specify who his boss is or what job he took.
“Um, sorry, I guess you probably didn’t need my life story,” Mya laughed.

Had mya been any other person, Yuko would have taken an absolute thril in corrupting that innocent and sheltered soul. Afterall she was just sitting there, naked covered in nothing but soap bubbles. The more she talked and went on about her life, the more yuko realized something. She really was this pure and innocent creature, who was completely oblivious to the being just sitting there. She knew she was digging herself a pretty deep hole the more she let this go on letting her think she was just some strange magical wolf, but she couldn't help it. When mya was talking about where she was from, and where she had been raised, something went off in her head. That was familiar to her, and yet, she couldn't quite place why. It sounded like a familiar lesson she that she had tuned out from her tutor droning on and on, but she couldn't quite place it. Had mya mentioned who her brother was, and what job he did, why that certainly would have gotten her attention. Some part of fate might wonder if yuko had learned in that moment, Dante was her brother and that it was her brother that had prevented her from trying to leave hell. Afterall, yuko had gone through the front gate and cause quite the scene. She had no idea she was literally just taking a bubble bath with someone she fought so hard with at least one would assume that it would have been her brother that yuko fought against in hell. At the gates.
When she was done talking, she dipped her head under the water to rinse off the bubbles and hopped pretty gracefully out of the tub. She gave herself a little shake, just enough so she wasn't sopping wet, but she was still wet for the moment. She trotted over to where mya was sitting and just plopped down. She just didn't want to be in the water anymore, while it was possibly still warm to mya it had dipped to a slightly uncomfortable temperature for her. Infact the water had stayed far warmer than one might think it would without some sort of heating system or bubblejet's going off. It was like a warm cozy hug.
"It's quite alright. I think it's rather sweet. No, I am not from around here, and to be honest. " She looked down at her paws for a moment and then looked back up at her. " I thought it had been a dream. A strange gentleman found me sleeping outside and told me I would be better off inside and that I would find food here. The only requirement was that I needed to replace what it was I ate and to stay out of his tower." She smirked a bit, careful not to show her teeth this time. " I was also told not to harm anyone who residing here, which I now assume he meant you."
She kind of stared off into the distance before continuing. " I'm from... a not so nice place down deep south. There were lots of things being asked and expected of me that I no longer agreed with. It's like I woke up one day and something in me just snapped and I needed to get out of there." Her head tilted to the side as if she was trying to remember something but couldn't quite catch the memory. It was like a butterfly fluttering just outside her grasp. " I had to avoid someone I think... and I had to find something. There was like this pull that brought me here." She snapped back to reality and just fully stretched out. Leg sploot and all. She dangled her toe beans in the water and was bopping the bubbles as they floated by. She was being pretty lazy about it and wasn't really putting much effort into it. She had purposely gotten comfortable there outside the bath so that mya could continue to enjoy it.
It didn't even occur to her to think to question why she wanted to avoid the person she couldn't remember, or why she was seeking something out and why it felt like she had finally found it. She also couldn't understand why she didn't want to corrupt this woman, or why she was effectively pulling punches. Infact, there was this weird feeling of wanting to protect her.
(she's still doing the writing thing, I'm just to lazy to describe that all out again.)
