....A Fragment of History
When Yuko had her first children, She was pregnant with triplets. The first born of these was her daughter Lukana. The second born, was her son Night and the last to be born was another daughter who she named Mikangelious. Her pregnancy had been complicated due to the size of the birth and when yuko was pulled into a separate dimension / banished, it only added to the complications. The triplets where born prematurely, and unfortunately Mika passed away not long after her birth despite her mothers best efforts. She grieved for her lost daughter, carrying a heavy weight upon her heart for her lost daughter. It was there heritage that brought this curse upon them. Strong bloodlines ran threw both Seth and Yuko's veins, but with that came a great cost. Those powers, that genetic heritage fought for dominance and there offspring paid the price.
Seth couldn't understand the great pain this brought yuko. Not only that, but the physicians of hell told her that this was going to keep happening. She was fertile, but the chances of multiples where high. Her children would pay the price similar to how Seth's mother paid the price to bring him into this world. This was not an uncommon thing in hell and Yuko finally understood. When she was pregnant with her son Shane, she was so grateful that it was just one baby but she had this sense that he was not doing well despite what everyone was telling her. She knew in her heart that something was wrong, despite all the doctors telling her he was fine.
The labor was long and arduous, She struggled so much to bring him into the world and when he finally came, despite being full term, was failing to thrive. He did not cry out, his skin was pale, he was cool to the touch and his eyes where dim. Yuko was absolutely distraught and raged. She kicked everyone out of her delivery room, and her anger and pain shook the very foundation of the Palace of Hell. She clung to her newborn son and just finally let go.
The Queen of hell, Consort of the Devil, Cried. Her heart was shattered and she was completely broken by her son slowly dying in her arms. She knew of no magic to save him, despite everything she was trying. The Demoness of Carnage and Destruction, closed her eyes as she held her son close. She could feel the life leaving him and once again, was absolutely powerless to stop it. She was this all powerful demon, A force to be reckon with. She had razed civilizations, conquered county's, enslaved dimensions, slaughtered gods and yet she could not save a single child. Not just any child, but her child. All this power in the world and she couldn't save this single life.
Was this the price she was to pay for all of her sins?
And so, She prayed. The Godless heathen, prayed to what ever god would listen and beg for her child's life and somewhere in the void, A god did answer. A goddess specifically. She would give her forbidden long-lost knowledge to save her child and the price for this knowledge yuko was more then willing to pay.
Seth had wanted to be with his wife and support her, but when the birth started to become complicated he was ushered out of the room. He was making the doctors & healers nervous and yuko needed them to be focused on her, not being worried about loosing there heads because there king was ready to kill them. He had felt the tremor that had shook the palace and thought that his child had finally been born and as far as he knew, he was healthy. Celebrations started prematurely. In the time it took for one of the doctors to find him, the man barely got a few words out before seth was rushing towards the room.
He found yuko collapsed on the bed, in her demonic form. Her bloody hands where clutching his screaming newborn against her chest which had a gaping hole. No one had followed because once the king learned that his wife had bore him another son, and that son was dying with no hope to save him, surely there would be hell to pay. Seth closed the doors behind him and walked over to his wife, Calling her name out softly. Ice began to course threw his veins as the realization that Yuko was possibly gone started to sink in. His hands where shaking as he crossed the room to there bed. Gently he pulled his son from her arms and looked down at him.
There was huge fresh wound on his tiny chest and seth was caught in a trance as he watched what he knew to be yuko's signature magic stitch there sons chest up, and healed it over perfectly. She didn't leave behind a trace of what she had done. He looked down at his wife, the love of his life. "Yuko.. what did you do.." He placed his son in the bassinet beside the bed and brushed yukos hair away from her face before pulling her into his arms. Yuko had clawed out her own heart, her inner flame, and had given it to her infant son. She had preformed the ultimate sacrifice and gave up everything for her son to live.
They could have had more children, but there was only one her. He couldn't understand why she would do this. Why she would leave him like this. She was the only good in his world, she was the one who kept him grounded. He loved his children but the love he had Yuko was something else entirely. He looked at his son, clutching her body and it was in that moment that he understood why his father was who he was. Seth's mother had died giving birth to him. In that moment looking at his wailing son, something within him finally snapped. He fully accepted the darkness and it overtook the last bit of good in him. He bent his head as his horns grew in length, and a halo of black appeared over his head. Golden tears began to stream down his face. He had cried plenty of times before, but not like this. This would be the first and last time he would shed tears for love as his body felt like it was turning to ice. He was never going to love someone like he had loved her, and would deaden his heart to ensure that. It was like the fire within him died and it felt like he too, had a gaping hole in his chest.
They all had descended from the same race. After all, demons where once angels who had been banished. They where twisted and contorted by there environment and there actions. This was how the firsts of there kinds where created and over the eon's how they branched into the great family's, subspecies and race's. As angels, they where symbols of purity, goodness and light. They could feel the very light flow threw there veins and the unimaginable warmth it gave them. They experienced feelings of joy, happiness and content. They also experienced feelings of grief, sadness and loss because it was apart of life. When there kind had been split into two, the loss of friends and family, rocked both sides. That was one of the reasons they became the way they where. They where denied the warmth of the loving light, and the cold loneliness scared them. So they fueled the flames of rage, and smothered the feelings of loss, and grief. It twisted them into what they where now. The knowledge, and magics from those times where long ago lost but there was magic to be found in ones blood. That was something that could never be forgotten.
It was that grief, that loss, that pain that they always denied that Seth was accepting of and allowing himself to feel that brought on his tears. For that single moment, he let go of everything and it sunk in truly how much he cared for her. How much he truly loved her and how she completed him. The moment a golden tear fell on yuko, the shadows of the room flickered. He didn't realize what was going on but the shadows of the room began to seep darkness, doing everything to smother out the light. It was mere seconds before they where in completely dark room, but he didn't care. He could feel Yukos body changing beneath his grip. Her demon form was fading away, but still he did not care. He didn't even realize when, but he eventually realized that his newborn son had stopped crying. The deafening silence was enough for him to lift his head and realize something was happening around him.
At first he thought he was blind, but his golden tears were glowing. Yuko's face looked so peaceful as he looked towards where his son was, however in the darkness, he could not make him out. He could barely see a few inches in front of his face. He raised a hand to light a fireball, but was shocked to feel a hand reach up and touch his cheek. He looked down at yuko and was shocked to see her eyes open, hardly glowing. The darkness retreated, and it took a few moments for him to realize what was going on. Yuko was alive, and was weakly wiping away the tears from his eyes.
In a thunderous voice he called for the guards to get healers. What ever had just happened, he was going to take advantage of. His wife was alive and this time, he was not going to leave her side as they attended to her. He was able to shift his focus over to his newborn son, Whom he now found cleaned of blood and afterbirth, swaddled up in the blanket that yuko had made for him, with a matching beanie. Yuko was watching him and just looked down at the bassinet. The way her face lit up and smiled, she held her arms out for him. Seth could not help but oblige her, and lifted him out of the bassinet. He looked down at him, doing everything in his power to stifle the feelings of hate he had towards the newborn as he placed it in yukos waiting arms. He sat down beside her, wrapped an arm around her and kissed the top of her head. He whispered something against her head as he just leaned her against him.
